August part II

Well some other tibits to rememer: I forgot to write down that we now have a new member of the family. Her name is LOLA THUMBULINA DINASOUR WALKER. Can you guess who decided on the name of our new addition?
She is so cute and shy. It's actually our second hamster. The first one was named Phoebe, but since we had to move to Texas we had to give her to somebody else. So far we have had 2 hamsters and 2 fishes. Kate and Oscar passed away. Our dear Oscar passed away after one year and a half of being part of our family. Kate passed away after we left her with our friend Robin. However, we feel so close to LOLA, and I think it is the first time we feel so attached to our pet. Even Glenn feels she's part of the family. My friend DD has a hamster, too, and she offered to lend her to us for the year if we wanted to. Her hammster is so nice and obedient. Poor Lola, she is very shy. I had the thought of returning her to the pet shop and getting DD's hamster, but Glenn told me that he would prefer to keep LOLA since he feels she is part of the fam.
Another thing to remember: Nicky started pre-k 4 this past Monday. She is having fun and already has made 2 friends: Livi (who is in our ward) and Jasmin. Jasmin is a girl who just speaks Spanish. Nicky thinks it's so cool and she even told me, "MAMA, JAZMIN IS TEACHING ME SPANISH. I KNOW HOW TO SAY SCHOOL IN SPANISH. LISTEN. SCHOOL IN SPANISH IS SCUELA (escuela)." She practices her Spanish everytime that she is able. I'm sure she will be fluent soon if she keeps practicing.
Ian misses her so much. Everytime that we drop her off at school, he gets very sad and every time we come back home he looks like a little ghost screaming, "NICKYYYY! NICKYYY, WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUU! COME BAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!" I keep telling him to be able to go to school he MUST stop using diapers. Let see if I can convince him with this one. The price of replacing this apartment's carpet is ridiculous, so that's why I decided to postpone the potty training. However, everytime that I can, I encourage him to stop wearing diapers. He had a great reply to Glenn today after Church, because he said he was going to Nicky's school. Glenn told him he had to be a big boy and not use diapers, but he said no. Glenn asked him, "DO YOU WANT TO BE A BIG BOY OR A LITTLE BOY WITH DIAPERS?" Ian said, without a pause, "I WANNA BE A BIG BOY, BUT LITTLE." We had no response. :)
Hanna still a cutie chunky chunks. There is no day that when I go outside someobdy stops me to tell me how beautiful she is (I know she is so pretty, but also cute with SO many rolls lol). Tonight I'm having the beehives over to watch a movie at our place. So I need to keep going. ...turns out not everything was good news to end the month. Glenn's car's AC was stolen while he was on call thi s past week, and he also got sick while he was on call at the same time...but at least he wasn't there while they were stealing the AC! Count our blessings, right?
adios

August is almost over sniff sniff...

Our August has been very nice, generous, and FUN!First our very good friends came to town for a vistit. To my surprise, Grant and Ian did better this time. They still had fights, but not as often as they did before. It was hilarous to see them fight. As my friend Linds said, "IT WAS LIKE LOOKING AT TWO UMPIRES ARGUING NOSE TO NOSE!" hahaha. However, they are getting to know each other. I saw them playing better and sharing better this time. :) Nicky and Jay are just very good friends. They respect each other and care for each other's happiness. It touches my heart when Jay was playing with the boys and saw Nicky all by herself and went with her to give her company. I just feel very blessed that theyare keeping a sincere friendship since a young age.
We went to the Dallas Zoo next day after their visit. We just did half of the Zoo. It is H U G E. Very nice zoo, if I may say.

We did the monorail to cool off a little bit.

The zoo has this area for the kids to cool off. Ian and grant got SO wet that they came back home with just diapers. :) On a side note we went to the children's area, and they have made our friend Jay a "poopologist," meaning somebody who is an expert in classifying poops. That is right (unfortunately): they make the kids play this game of, "Guess whose poops belongs to what animal?" CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? I'm telling ya HILARIOUS! (and gross)

After the zoo we went and took advanage of some coupons for FREE food that I had. We got to have wings...YUM!...and fast food from A&W rootbeer. Next day Lindsay was planning on leaving. I was able to convince her to stay one more day, which was perfect since I had to register Nicky for pre-K, and she was SO helpful. It made me realize that I do need to have a way to reach my hubby haha. Thanks, Lindsay. I couldn't have done it with out you. I was clueless about how to get a bill since Glenn pays for them online. I didn't even know the name of the electric company. I was worthless. Thanks to Lindsay's help, everything turned out great. Phewwwwwwwww!
Thanks to that inconvenience, that day was spoiled, but not for long since we went to the pool.

Unfortunately time flies when you are having fun. Thursday came really quick and the Hobbs needed to go back to Oklahoma...awww! However the morning before their departure we pla yed at home and then we went to the mall. After that they left for the I-20 to return safely with their anxious doctor who I bet missed them so much. Thanks guys for coming. It's our turn next. We just need to figure out a convenient time for everybody. However we can't wait to go to the OK zoo:)

Well Sunday came fast and my friend Dee Dee invited us to go ice skating. She is the master of coupons, so she got some for me and Nicky so we didn't have to pay to ice skate. She also had coupons for free rides in the carrousel at the mall and free food at Chick Fil-A...AWESOME! Ian got his turn to ice skate, too. Nicky was afraid at the beginning, but then she was "enjoying" the experience a little bit more. Ian on the other hand loves danger so he thought "walking" on ice was pretty cool. He wouldn't let go my hand, though! However he was very sad that we needed to get off of the ice since Momma got tired of leading him.
Dee Dee's kids are adorable and they were very nice to take care of Hanna while we enjoyed this priceless moment.
It was funny to hear Nicky and Ian at the end telling me, "MOMMA, I WAS AWESOME! DID YOU SEE ME IN THERE? I'M GREAT!" (not cocky at all, huh?)

Thanks Dee Dee for a great day at the mall:) And thanks to your kids for being SO AWESOME!
In August alsoHanna turned 5 MONTHS OLD! I can't believe it. She is always our drama queen. We thought Nicky was good, but Hanna learned fast and the student has already overcome the teacher. :) She loves playing with everybody and watching what we do. She giggles ALL the time and can be a screamer, too. She is a very sweet baby. Very easy to love. :) I just can't believe she is already 5 months old. I keep treating her like a needy baby, but she is SO ready to keep progressing. As soon as I see she wants to crawl I lay her down so she con't be able to do it SO fast. She is a smarty, so she has decided to crawl like the crabs: backwards and using her head and pushing herself with her legs. I just know as soon as she starts walking I'll get baby hungry again and may try to have more babies. I guess my father in-law would be pleased with that since he wants MORE AND MORE GRANDCHILDREN.

She is finally eating baby food and has been taking the formula very well, too. She gets excited everytime she sees this little jar:)

She also enjoys it when her siblings play. She is a great observer and likes to be part of our growing gang. Nicky and Ian like to play with her, too.

I still have more news to share. However it's late so I'll do it during next weekend. nighty night.

Blondes have fun!

I went and picked up my sister in-law from the Airport. We had a nice quick visit. The kids were sad that she had to leave. My family in Monterrey is having a family reunion with all the extended family. I was sad that we miss it. They all got together in a cousin ranch and spend the night there. I bet it was awesome. I'm waiting for my sister in-law report about the reunion.
I was very tempted to go by myself with the kids and stay there. Then I sadly remember that Hanna doesn't have a passport yet:(. Maybe next time. On the other hand I'm glad we didn't go since all of a sudden the 4 of us got sick from a very bad cold. Ian started, then me, then Hanna and now my sweet Nicky also have a cold. I hope we Glenn doesn't get sick too.
Anyway being sick wouldn't stop us to have fun. My sister in-law Fina brought some gift for the kids. They love their new toys. One of Nicky's gift is a blond wig for her dress up collection. We all try it. She told me "LOOK MOM I LOOK LIKE GRANDMA" ha ha. Here are the pics of all of as "blondes"
