What a day!

I went to sleep yesterday at 1:30 a.m. I was baking a cake for my good friend DD since today is her b-day. I was also making cookies for my kids and husband (I hate playing the good samaratan without being a good mom and wife). Anyway, SO I baked everything yesteday so today I could have an easier day since Nicky had to take a test to see if she would qualify for a bilingual pre-K program.
This morning as usual my kiddos woke me up so I went to the bathroom to get myself ready for the day. Then Ian told me, "MAMA, I SAW A CAKE IN THE FRIDGE!" I told him that the cake wasn't ours, that it was our friend's DD's b-day cake. I told him that I had a surprise for him later. Then he went and I heard him talking to Hanna. Nicky and Ian were both talking to Hanna so I took my time to get ready. I was thinking about how wonderful my kids were with their little sister, and that I loved the way that Nicky talks to her and Ian...Ian...Ian? Wait, I haven't heard him for 5 minutes. So I called him, "IAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNN!" He didn't answer and Nicky kept talking to Hanna. I went to the kithcen and there he was: my little rugrat with his face full of chocolate as well as the floor and the fridge. You might be thinking what a big deal, it's just another box of cake, but the problem was that I always make my cackes from scratch. It was going to take me another hour at least, and I had my appointment for Nicky's test.
I was so angry at Ian because he deliberately disobeyed me. I punished him, and he wanted to make me happy again, so I decided to cut his hair (I did it just because his hair was ridiculously long). Anyway, he didn't fight as much as usual while I was cutting his hair. He was sad that his Sampson-like mane was being cut. He kept telling me, "MAMA, I'LL BE GOOD, BUT DON'T CUT MY HAIR!" At the end I gave him a piece of cake that he enjoyed this time without hiding. I guess it was a good thing that the cake got ruined since yesterday by mistake I made the wrong mix for the icing.

After that we went to try to get Nicky into a bilingual program. She was practicing "her spanish" so much. She has a little accent when she speaks English and also when she speaks Spanish. She didn't qualify for the bilingual program, but at least she did qualify for the English one. She thinks she is going to the Spanish class so tomorrow I'll be having a long converstation with her about it. It breaks my heart because she is SO confident about her "spanish." She even told Ian today, "WAIT, IAN, I WILL GO AND TALK TO MOM IN SPANISH SO SHE WILL UNDERSTAND." Of course when she came to me she told me in English, "MOM, IT SEEMS THAT I NEED TO LEARN SPANISH" haha (by the way, I need to mention that that baby carrier was made for her by one of my friends. Thanks Katie, I never thought she was going to love that baby carrier SO much).
Some other tibits: my sister in-law Fina came to visit for the weekend. The kids and I had fun. I think she had fun, too. I cooked and baked for her. We went together to the gym and after that we swam until we got tired. We came back home and watched movies or talked. The kids were very excited to have her here. Nicky kept bragging about how good she is with puzzles. Also Ian bragged, but he did it about how great a brother he is. Nicky even "fed" Hanna with a baby bottle toy. Hanna loves attention so she enjoys hearing her name, and she's always ready to give everybody big smiles and hugs all the time.

Hanna loves touching her feet and getting kisses from her siblings. She's still our little precious peach. She is already 4 months old and growing everywhere. She loves falling asleep while she rubs something soft on her face.
My handsome husband is awesome. He is quite tired all the time now. However he is never too tired to not play with his beloved kids. Every day before the kids go to sleep they get to play their favorite games with Glenn, and also get to hear a story read by him.

This is something that I made last week. It's like a pizza roll. The kids and I loved it. I filled them with cheese, pineapple, canadian bacon, and chicken.

I just realized that I'm going backwards in days with this post. EYB
