My mother in-law gave me a calendar that plans an activity for each day. It's called Fun Family Activites. I talk to my friend Laura about the activity of the day (for yesterday), it was to feed the ducks. Even though it was horribly windy/cold I didn't want to give up on my goal of doing each one of the activity and perhabp making these activities a family tradition.
Anyway somehow she said yes to my invitation. I grabbed some bread and crackers that I had. The park was beautiful. Seeing all those ducks and gesse was neat. We parked and the kids were anxious to feed the animals. The "animals" where ready to get fed by us. Literally, a starving goose bit my ankle. The kids are normally very happy to feed them but the 4 of them were complaining about these starving creatures. Real life kids normally chase them, but this time the animals chased the kids. It was so funny seeing Ian throwing all the food and running away from them. Nicky would jump behind my legs she was so scared. Ally and Livy were complaining about the geese taking the food out of their hand.
I felt bad for the kids, but more for these little animals. Laura and I were saying that is so unfair to the poor animals. They get so used to eating well during the summer, but during winter nobody goes and feeds them. I might go once per week to feed them. I'll also start encouaging people to do it during the winter, too. So whoever you are are, if you are reading this post, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE feed the ducks during the winter!!! Make it a goal, and go and feed the ducks with your family. Those little ones really need to eat, too.
